Quick Takes

 1. The grammar school had their traditional Texas Field Day (like a regular field day, but with a Texas theme because we can) yesterday...it was so much fun. I swear it gets more awesome every year! One of the classes challenged Coach to take them on in tug-of-war, and he happily accepted.

2. Spoiler alert: Coach won. Now we know for sure that if Mrs. Dion's entire class was perilously dangling off a rope, he could pull them all to safety!

3. Also, there was a petting zoo. With a tiny baby pig. GiGi's nursery class highly approved of this!

4. Really, all of our wild little Texans highly approved of the entire event. Quoth Lainey, "I am so in love with this day!"

5. There are only THREE weeks of school left. My mind keeps going from, "omg, we need to learn more things! We haven't learned enough things yet! Work! Work! Work! children!" to, "You want to make a giant laser maze out of yarn in my classroom? Sounds lovely!"

6. "If you get in trouble for letting us, Mrs. H, just say that each strand of yarn represents a different thread of the story, woven together in an intricate pattern that encompasses us all."
He's going places, that one!

7. The boys and I are signed up to do Walk4Water in a few weeks, raising money to drill clean wells in countries where access to water is severely limited. I was so happy that they all wanted to do the walk when I asked if anyone was interested. They are pretty much the best guys ever! If anyone wanted to donate a little bit to help us reach our team goal, that would be wonderful!
