2015 in Review

Friday, January 1, 2016

2015 was not a year that I would call easy. It wasn't comfortable or settled, and a lot of the time it was straight up exhausting. 2015 pushed me and challenged me and made me cry on a fairly regular basis, actually. HOWEVER, going through my (five hundred million) pictures from the year to make this collage, I realized something. This past year was all of those negative-sounding things because it was actually an incredibly positive year, powerful and meaningful and beautiful. So much good came from it, and it was worth every bit of stress and discomfort.

Settling into our new home, celebrating birthdays, celebrating everything, winning a state championship!, going to lots of plays, helping put on some plays, traveling a little bit, being silly, dancing, saying goodbye to our grads, sending some of our boys off to college, growing a whole new person, swimming with dolphins, starting a football team, reading a ton of books, working hard and playing hard, cooking countless meals, countless games of basketball,  loving each other even more than the year before, growing up, dressing up, throwing up, sewing and crafting and making do on a teeny tiny budget, trying to make a difference in the world, learning to let go, getting closer to God, finding peace in the midst of chaos, laughing more than you can imagine, crying, trying new things, learning new things, taking risks, failing spectacularly, discovering our flaws, and always, always picking up and moving forward. It was a crazy journey and I wouldn't trade away one bit of it! I'm just wondering how we managed to fit all of this into one year!

2016 is totally invited to include more naps, though. Just thought I'd put that out there.
